Care Instructions

Scrunchies are made with fabric which makes them completely washable. You should wash it according to frequency of use, activities you do and level of concern. Usually once every 1 to 2 weeks is enough.

To keep your scrunchies looking their best and prolong their lifespan, follow these simple care instructions for both handwashing and machine washing.

Hand Wash

  1. Fill a bowl or sink with lukewarm water and add a small amount of mild detergent.
  2. Submerge your scrunchies in the soapy water and gently wash them to remove dirt and oils.
  3. Rinse the scrunchies thoroughly with clean water until all the detergent is removed.
  4. Squeeze out excess water without wringing or twisting the scrunchies.
  5. Lay them flat on a clean towel and gently reshape them to their original shape.
  6. Let them air dry completely before using or storing.

Machine Wash

  1. Place your scrunchies in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase to protect them during the wash cycle. (Ideally wash with other laundry.)
  2. Select a gentle or delicate cycle with cold water.
  3. Add a small amount of mild detergent to the machine.
  4. Start the wash cycle and let it complete.
  5. Once the cycle is finished, remove the scrunchies from the mesh bag.
  6. Lay them flat on a clean towel and reshape them gently.
  7. Allow them to air dry fully before using or storing.

Fluffing Scrunchies

To reshape a squashed scrunchie or scrunchies that have lost their fluffiness over time. Here are a few ways to bring them back to their original shape:

  1. Moisture: Sprinkle a small amount of water onto the squashed area of the scrunchie. Alternatively, you can lightly dampen the scrunchie with a spray bottle or by running it under a gentle stream of water.
  2. Massage and Fluff: Gently massage and fluff the fabric with your fingers to loosen it up. Pay attention to any areas that appear flattened or squashed.
  3. Hand Stretching: Hold the dampened scrunchie between your hands and gently pull and stretch it in different directions. Focus on the squashed area and work to reshape it back to its original round form. Be careful not to stretch too forcefully, as it may strain the elastic.
  4. Steam: If the scrunchie is made of a fabric that can tolerate heat, use a handheld garment steamer or hold it over a steaming kettle. The steam will help relax the fibers, making it easier to reshape.
  5. Blow Dryer: Use a blow dryer on a low heat setting and hold it a few inches away from the scrunchie. While blowing warm air, continue to stretch and manipulate the fabric with your hands. The heat will help relax the fibers and aid in restoring its shape.
  6. Allow to Air Dry: Once you've reshaped the scrunchie, place it on a clean, flat surface and let it air dry completely. Avoid using a hairdryer or other heat sources to speed up the drying process, as excessive heat may cause damage.

By following these steps, you should be able to reshape a squashed scrunchie and restore its original round and fluffy appearance. Remember to handle the scrunchie gently to avoid damaging the fabric or elastic.
